My Dad was a fighter pilot in the Air Force, so I grew up traveling the world. We lived in England, Germany, Turkey and multiple places across the United States. I even went to German school, in a small town in Nordrhein-Westfalen. By the time we left, I thought and dreamt in German. It made a lasting impression on me, as did an entire childhood spent exploring castles, dungeons, old battlefields and more. It was no surprise to anyone that I ended up studying history in college. Initially, I thought I’d be a college professor, but life had other plans for me.

I’ve always been a writer. My Mom said I started at age six with a poem. Since then, I’ve read and written as a way to get through always being the new kid, to make it through tough times, and ultimately for the pure enjoyment of immersing myself in the world of stories. I’ve never been able to stick to just one genre. I’ve written everything from horror to romance. But my stories always seem to center around a woman facing the unthinkable and trying to find a way to live through it.

When I’m not writing, I love to travel, dabble in painting, and hang out with my loud, boisterous, wonderful family. I also love research, exploring historical sites, and combing through old bookstores for obscure nuggets of information I can use in my next novel.
